Run Your Pants Off
Last night Brokeman's Running Company put on the Run Your Pants Off Run in Columbus Ohio. I have been wanting to put this run on forever, but met a lot of challenges while trying to figure it out. But when I went to come up with an idea for the winter solstice run I wanted to put on, it just clicked. And everything happened so organically.
Basically, people showed up, layered on as much clothing as they wanted, and then ran a 1.7 mile loop that had 6 donation spots along it. At each stop the took off whatever clothing they wanted and received a ticket for their donation. At the end of the run they put their tickets in for a raffle. The weather was perfect for taking our clothes off while running around downtown. The windchill must have been sitting around 25, that might be a little generous. Columbus was all lite up with Christmas decorations and even had Christmas music playing on the sidewalks!
Check out the before and after picture from runner Kelli Migliore!
All of the clothing is going to be donated to the Free Store in Columbus Ohio. We had 100 runners come out, and I had no idea what to expect....
The amount of clothing we received was way more generous then I had planned. So much so that we had to go back home and grab out 12ft trailer to begin to even think about loading it up....
I want to thank all of our runners for coming and running your pants off with us, and to all of our amazing companies and individuals that donated to our raffle! It was the bomb.
A Special thanks to
Columbus Eastside Running Club
REI Columbus Wood and Water
and to all of the individuals that donated products as well!!
See you in 2017.
